Christmas Event 2019 (Full Story)

Father Christmas lands at Norwich Aviation Museum!

The City of Norwich Aviation Museum plans to host Santa Claus in their 'Nimrod Grotto' between 10am and 4pm allowing young children the chance to tell Santa their Christmas wishes whilst receiving a small Christmas gift.

The museum's very own Vulcan Bomber will be also open for guided tours along with its Hawker Hunter cockpit for flight simulator sessions and a Jaguar cockpit section for the aspiring Jet Fighter Pilot or budding enthusiast!

After exploring the Museum; why not pop into the Friendship Tea Room which will be serving light refreshments throughout the day and also have a go on the Christmas Tombola, suitable for all ages!

All money raised will go towards the Museum's development fund, which supports the maintenance of exhibits and allows the museum to develop future projects such as making the site more accessible plus a much needed hanger to house some of our prized aircraft.

Gifts aimed at younger children (3 - 10 year olds) and are given on a first come first serve basis.
Normal admission prices will apply along with a £3 admission fee to the Nimrod Grotto (per child).
Admission to the Grotto will be at a discounted rate upon expiry of gifts.
Photography is allowed inside the grotto free of charge and access to the grotto is via a staircase.

Emergency Services Day 2020 (Full Story)

Emergency Services Day at the City of Norwich Aviation Museum!
Saturday 30th May 2020

On Saturday the 30th of May 2020, the City of Norwich Aviation Museum plans to host second Emergency Services Day between 10am and 5pm; allowing you the chance to get up close and personal to emergency vehicles, equipment and displays.

The day promises lots of vehicles, flashing lights and educational displays and demonstrations with hopefully children and adults being educated on the day to day operations and duties our emergency services must undertake. It is hoped visitors will exit the museum having learnt something new!

Along with these visiting displays, the museum's very own Vulcan Bomber, Nimrod, Lightning and Jaguar Cockpit will be open for guided tours along with its Hawker Hunter Flight Simulator.*

After exploring the outdoor displays; visit the Friendship Tea Room which will be serving light refreshments throughout the day.

Wings and Wheels 2020 (Full Story)

Wings & Wheels Event at the City of Norwich Aviation Museum!
Saturday 4th July / Sunday 5th July 2020

After a successful first event in 2019; On Saturday the 4th and Sunday 5th July 2020, the City of Norwich Aviation Museum plans to host its second annual Wings & Wheels Event between 10am and 5pm; allowing you the chance to get up close and personal to classic cars, motorbikes, military vehicles and equipment, historical re-enactors, aircraft, equipment and displays.


Along with these visiting displays, the museum's very own Vulcan Bomber, Nimrod, Lightning and Jaguar Cockpit will be open for guided tours along with its Hawker Hunter Flight Simulator, Fokker F27 Friendship and Herald.* Both Vulcan and Nimrod aircraft will be brought to life to demonstrate some of the systems used when in active service. This includes a demonstration of the Vulcan's bomb bay.


After exploring the outdoor displays; visit the Friendship Tea Room which will be serving light refreshments throughout the day while enjoying the live music and atmosphere of what promises to be an exciting and interesting weekend for visitors!
